WRF's new Blueprint for One Water guides agencies

The Water Research Foundation has released the Blueprint for One Water, a practical guide for agencies seeking to manage water resources holistically and sustainably. Brown and Caldwell developed the blueprint, which was sponsored by WRF, with input from over 800 water professionals who participated in an international survey, more than 10 one-on-one interviews, and a two-day international workshop with 35 water professionals.


Gov. Cuomo announces plan to close Indian Point


Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday a long-anticipated plan to shutter the 1960s-era Indian Point nuclear power station in a deal with owner Entergy that he said will see the plant cease operations by April 2021. He said the state has plenty of options for power from current and future energy sources to replace the 2,000 megawatts that the Indian Point plant provides.


Nonprofit maps ways to strengthen conservation

Now, an Annapolis nonprofit is aiming to bring "big data" to another cause: environmental conservation — specifically restoration of the Chesapeake Bay. The Chesapeake Conservancy has unveiled a high-resolution land cover dataset of the bay watershed.
