Metra
station service pact eyed
Chicago Tribune
- 7/30
Roselle village trustees Monday discussed
a proposed intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Schaumburg
to provide water and sewage service to the new Schaumburg Metra
station.
Virtually all Roselle trustees supported the
measure because of the village's partnership with Metra during
the village's recent train station renovation.
"If we approved this, it would also benefit a lot of the
residents here in Roselle that use the Schaumburg rather than
the Roselle station," said Trustee Diana Eckert.
In exchange for the connection to Roselle
water and sewer, village officials are asking Schaumburg to quickly
process some permit requests concerning the Roselle Town Center
project, which would allow two small Schaumburg businesses to
tap into Roselle's water and sewer services. Up to now, Schaumburg
has not allowed the requests.
The agreement will be voted on during the
next Village Board meeting, scheduled for Aug 11.
