Worthington moves ahead
with sewer improvements

Worthington Daily Globe - 2/25

The Worthington City Councill passed resolutions allowing two sanitary sewer improvement projects to move forward following public hearings on each.

The 13th Street sanitary sewer project will cost an estimated $113,000 — with the city covering approximately $59,120, or 52.3 percent, and assessments comprising the remainder — while the Pederson’s Subdivision project will cost around $30,800, with about $26,310 to be paid for by the city.

The 13th Street project resolution was unanimously approved, and the Pederson’s Subdivision work passed with one negative vote.

“Only one house is being served,” Alderman Lyle Ten Haken said following the meeting. “I’d be interested in possibly exploring a more cost-effective approach to that particular house.”
