Kudos
to Frankfort village workers
Chicago Daily Southtown
- 2/17
In
June of 2002 we moved to the village of Frankfort. As soon as
we moved in to our house we noticed the water pressure was horrible;
my husband happened to mention it when he went to pay the water
bill. The girl told my husband that maybe the water meter was
old and she would send the water department out to check it. They
came out, were there at the time promised, replaced the meter
and blew out our water lines from the house to the street. After
that our water pressure was like night and day.
I
appreciated them then but after today, I can't even tell you how
much I need to thank them. My husband, two small children and
I have been suffering with a severe stomach flu that has plagued
us for four days now. My 3 year old was at the hospital Monday
and my husband is in there now. I can't catch up with the amount
of clothes, sheets, towels and blankets that we've changed and
need to be washed. So for the time being all that sits on the
floor of my laundry room.
I
went down this morning to try and start some laundry to find my
laundry room and everything in it covered in sewage. I immediately
called the village as they've been working on the sewer pipes
in our neighborhood the past few weeks. A man from the village,
Jack Camilleri, came to the house to look at the problem only
to discover it wasn't a village problem; our ejector pump became
disconnected. He was so courteous. He got a clamp from his truck
and fixed the problem for me. He didn't need to do that but he
did and didn't think twice about it.
I'm
sure he thought I was a crazy lady and actually after the week
I've had, I am. But I just wanted to thank the employees of the
village of Frankfort, who really do make this a nice place to
live.
