Firm to pay fine for S. Paula chlorine release (Ventura County Star, 6/30) "The company that ran Santa Paula's sewage treatment plant for five years has agreed to pay the county of Ventura $125,000 to settle accusations that it tried to conceal the amount of chlorine the plant discharged."   Nevada County: Sewage a big-time challenge (Yuba,Net, 6/30) "The 2003-2004 Nevada County Civil Grand Jury investigated the status of wastewater treatment plants in unincorporated Western Nevada County because plant operators and customers were facing large upgrade expenditures to meet new state and federal requirements.
