"The 'Solar
Bee' is a floating solar-powered mixing system that Inland
Empire Utilities Agency is currently evaluating at its Regional
Water Recycling Plant No. 5 (RP-5). These units are used in
ponds and lakes utilizing solar power during the day and then at
night or when there are low light conditions the power comes
from the shoreline. It is anticipated that the savings in
electrical energy would allow the unit to pay for itself in
approximately two years." Compliments of Dan Foley, Senior
Operator, IEUA.
