Traditional water supplies are no longer a certainty for many municipal water utilities across the U.S., sparking a wave of investment in water reuse and desalination projects that exceeds $18 billion. Critical drivers to their adoption are demonstrated cost declines and competitiveness with more traditional water supplies, according to new analysis.


Boxer will lobby for Huntington Beach desal plant

A Boston-based water development company is paying former Sen. Barbara Boxer to push for approval of a proposed seawater desalination plant. Boxer will lobby the California Coastal Commission on behalf of Poseidon Water's private project, which would sell drinking water supplies to Orange County agencies.
