Don Cameron expects farmers will see some of the biggest effects as the climate changes, and he says growers need to take proactive steps to prepare. For 35 years, Cameron has served as the vice president and general manager of Terranova Ranch near Fresno. He is one of several featured speakers at next week's One Nation: Climate Change forum in Rancho Mirage.


Feds will probe state spending on Delta tunnels

The Interior Department's inspector general has opened an investigation into possible funding irregularities involving the proposed Delta tunnels. The decision came after a nonprofit filed a complaint alleging that federal money intended to go for fish and wildlife was spent instead on planning for the tunnels.

The powerful Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is broadening its reach by purchasing $175 million worth of real estate in the hub of California’s water delivery network: the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. It represents the most concrete step to date in a controversial deal that has been in the works since fall.
