Delta fix

A team of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's top advisers settled on a new water strategy yesterday, promoting a contentious mix of dams and a new canal to keep supplies flowing to Southern California while at the same time restoring the health of the fragile Delta. (San Diego Union-Tribune)

A report released from Rep. Henry Waxman’s office found that the EPA has shown a lax interest in enforcing the Clean Water Act in recent years, leading to hundreds of instances when investigations have been neglected and waterways have been threatened. (Washington Independent)

Green chemistry

California officials launched a sweeping green initiative on Tuesday to inform consumers exactly how hundreds of thousands of products are manufactured and transported and how safe their ingredients are. The plan, which would require every product to reveal its "environmental footprint," envisions the most comprehensive regulations ever adopted for consumer goods. (Los Angeles Times)  THE INITIATIVE
