'Floating RVs'

Officials are drafting an ordinance that could limit how long boats may be anchored off Corona del Mar State Beach. The growing number of boats anchored off the beach has turned the area into a “floating RV park." (Costa Mesa Daily Pilot)

Finding faults

The Army Corps of Engineers, as part of a study into the safety of Martis Creek Dam, dug two trenches in Waddle Ranch this fall. What they found, two earthquake faults, lends credence to the dam’s ranking of one of the six riskiest in the nation. (Sierra Sun)
