The federal government has ordered California water agencies to cut arsenic levels by 2010 or face hefty fines. The order, made public Tuesday by the EPA, comes as small water systems struggle to comply with tighter standards to control arsenic, a naturally occurring mineral known to cause cancer. (Fresno Bee)
