Cutting waste

San Rafael-based Marin Sanitary Service has found another way to cut down on waste. The 50-year-old garbage hauler has installed solar panels atop its recycling center to completely power the facility while reducing usage throughout the company by 18 percent. (Marin Independent Journal)
